Conference Submissions
Conference Submissions
This page is where you submit your initial paper to one of the three conference tracks: California Management Review, Industrial & Corporate Change, or R&D Management.
The submission must be completed by 11:59pm PST on February 1, 2026
A single author must be designated as presenting author, and that author must be on the revised (and published) paper.
No individual can be listed as the presenting author for more than one paper.
No paper can be submitted to more than one track. If there are overlaps between two submissions in theory or data, disclose the overlap and differences in the submission system to both editors.
The paper must be a single PDF, with the title and list of authors on the cover page, followed by the remainder of the manuscript that contains the title, abstract, body of the paper, references (except CMR), and tables and figures.
The PDF name should be the first author's last name, followed by the name of the track (CMR, ICC, RDM) and a 2-4 word brief title, separated by dashes: for example, "Meyer-CMR-PlatformOpenness.pdf"
To upload a file to our (Google Drive-based) system, the submitter will need to be logged into a valid individual or organizational Google account.
The submissions will be evaluated by the guest editors of the corresponding special issue, and only seen by them. Decisions for all three tracks are scheduled to be announced on March 1.
You need to carefully consider how your paper fits a particular call for papers. Prior to submission, authors should ask themselves
Does my paper fit the scope of the call for the intended special issue, as defined by the phenomenon, outcome, and/or theoretical framing?
Do the abstract and framing clearly articulate what I am (we are) trying to accomplish? Does the rest of the paper deliver on what is promised in the abstract and introduction? Is this something that will be of interest to conference participants and (potentially) journal readers?
Does it build on a limited number of literatures and show how this study might contribute to one (or more) literatures?
For the CMR track, does it articulate managerial relevance?
Is the writing clear and accurate?
Do the manuscript length and format meet the journal guidelines? (If you have concerns, contact the track chair in advance).
The expectation is that the submissions will be AOM-level papers of completed (or nearly completed) research, complete enough to become a polished journal submission by August 1.
